I’m going to try and remember to post up more review content, but I went to see Expend4bles last night at Cineworld. Its the fourth movie in the Expendables franchise, and features a band of mercenaries known as “The Expendables”, who are brutal, brazen, and messy but get the job done (all played by days-gone-by action heros from other more popular films)
In this movie, Lee Christmas (played by Jason Statham) is banished from the team after a failed mission in Libya. He soon teams up with one of the many first-time cast members, Thai action star Tony Jaa. Together, they reunite with other freelance warriors led by Gina (played by Megan Fox). The film has SO many stars in it, just the list itself is incredible :
- Sylvester Stallone as Barney Ross
- Jason Statham as Lee Christmas
- Dolph Lundgren as Gunner Jensen
- Randy Couture as Toll Road
- Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Mars
- Megan Fox as Gina
- Tony Jaa as Payu
- Iko Uwais as Rama
- Jacob Scipio as Max
- Levy Tran as Thorn
- Andy Garcia as Victor Martinez
If you had any other film with this list of actors in, you’d have a superstar super hit, but this film plot must have been written on the back of a cigarette packet and Id genuinely avoid watching it and do something else better with your time. The interactions between the characters are predict4ble, the plot is terr4ble and the fr4nchise needs putting to rest.
Take out these characters and just replace them with unknown actors and this film wouldnt have even gotten a VHS release in the pound bin
